Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Roberts is part of the fourth generation of Robertses who live in the Atlanta region, beginning with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Early on, her father began to take an interest in theater. As a college students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in several shows. He joined the air force in 1953. During his time working in Biloxi Mississippi was cast in a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the Air force. The couple got married in 2005 and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was an undergraduate at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they were discharged from the air force and Walter began studying at Tulane University. Walter joined Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after they moved their family from Atlanta to Decatur, Georgia in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning children's show, Bum Bum and His Buddies. They also created the six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later that same year. During this time they also had two kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
