Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family that lived in Atlanta. The story started with her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. She inherited her father's interest in theatre from an early age. When he was a college students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he was a part of several productions. In 1953, he joined the Air Force. While stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he acted in a production together with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in 1955. Their baby son Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. Walter along with his wife quit the military in the year 1957, when they enrolled Walter as a student at Tulane University. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to work on the set of the show Bum Bum and His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local Saturday morning children's TV show Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. They also established a six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later that same year. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
