Rebecca King-CrewAmerican actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in the television series Magnum. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards as Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series (1980-1988), and took home the Emmy Award in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has been a co-star in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine TV films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chief, beginning in 2005. Selleck also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architecture, in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). Since Magnum, P.I., the actor has appeared in more than 50 television roles and in films, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared in frequent television characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner in The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played a lead role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
